I recommend signing up with one of the free hosting communities at least until you feel comfortable. (Because their business is based on membership, and their member ship is based on the services and support that they offer, they're usually the easiest to use.)
The sign up process is often simple and involves giving them some demographic information and accepting a user agreement. Don't forget to write down or print out your user name and password.
Most places will offer a few different levels of web editors or web builders. The easiest ones to use are the drag and drop WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editors because you don't have to know any HTML. These programs can have your site up and running in less than an hour! Ready? Set? Go!
